Craft groups in the Quemchi area: À Quemchi il existe quatre organizations artisanales: Agrupación Comunal de Artesanas: Since its creation in 1996, this group has participated in a series of craft shows in Temuco, Castro, Puerto Montt, Santiago and Bariloche. Kolping: another organisation dedicated to craftwork since 1991, functioning under the wing of the church, its work is widely distributed within the province. Las Chilotas: was created in 1993, members are mainly housewives who have taken various courses in textile weaving and dying and are now earning an income by their craft. Artesanas de Colo: created in 2000, concentrates on wool textiles and traditional Chiloé cuisine and has participated in courses such as "Perfecting techniques for working in wool and other natural fibres".
