Starting from the Plaza de Achao, visit the church of Santa María de Loreto (World Heritage Site and a National Monument) and see the interior and museum. Near to the church the council building, fire station and private dwellings, make an attractive sight. Walk the central streets of Las Delicias, Arturo Prat and Miranda Velázquez. On the waterfront you will see the landing ramp with many picturesque vessels carrying out the commerce of the islands. The sandy beach is a good place to linger. In Calle Serrano there is a gallery with craftwork from Isla Llingua. |

From the ramp at Achao take a launch to Llingua. The voyage takes an hour and is an excellent way to see the area. The island is well known for its basket weaving. Different fibres, reed, manila or flax are utilised for each particular type of work. By the beach is a chapel where on 11th February there is a festival in honour of the virgin of Lourdes. Llingua has a craft store on Calle Serrano in Achao. |

Head south east from Achao through rural farmland enjoying the views on the way. You will reach Villa Quinchao with the largest church on Chiloé, (World Heritage Site and a National Monument) it is a place that seems to take you back in time. During the trip you will find a series of tourist lookouts that enable you to enjoy views of islands, channels and the distant mountains. Heading a little further south on a side road is Villa de Matao with a perfect beach on which to relax. Also visit Chequián the southern tip of the island.
