Lliuco:

This pretty village, 14 km from Quemchi, has more than three km of beaches, from where the volcanoes Osorno, Puntiagudo and Calbuco are visible. There is a traditional church next to the beach. |

Huite:

Nine km from Quemchi lies Huite, where the prize-winning author, Francisco Colohane was born. It offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the area and "Punta Arena", in the Caucahué canal, - a beautiful place to picnic in an unspoiled natural setting. It's reached in half an hour by boat from Quemchi. |

Main town of the area. In the centre of town there is a library and a museum. Artisans display textile crafts often produced with natural fibres and colours. |

Isla Añihué, Mechuque:

Known for its lovely scenery, quaint narrow lanes, and houses built over the water (Palafitos). |

Isla Aucar:

Amongst green meadows and reached by a 510 meters long footbridge is a chapel and a cemetery, some of the sculpture dates from1761. From a lookout the landscape can be enjoyed especially the many Black-necked Swans in the waters around the island. |

Laguna Popetán:

A beautiful lagoon situated 8 km from Quemchi, suitable for fishing and water sports. Don't forget the gear! |

Río Colo:

The river running between the hills of Montemar forms a beautiful estuary. |

Isla Caucahué:

Situated opposite Quemchi, it can be visited by boat and circumnavigated in two hours. Its major attractions are:
Punta de Pescuezo: Extensive sand beaches with a natural swimming pool at low tide.
Punta Morro Lobos: A pleasant area with an abundance of wild birds.

10 minute boat ride from Quemchi, it has great sand beaches under the steep slopes facing the Gulf of Ancud. |

Punta Pinquén:

A lovely beach walk close to Quemchi on the shores of canal Caucahué, enjoy the views of the cordillera on the other side of the Gulf. |
