Located near the wharf, the museum houses exhibits from Queilen?s past. A gallery displays paintings by children of the area and reproductions of antique photographs. In addition there is an auditorium for up to 100 people, used regularly for cultural events.

The area is famous for its beaches with fine sand and peaceful waters.
Queilen Beach
This pretty beach is on the shores of Queilen Peninsular with the Cordillera de Los Andes and the islands of Acui and Tranqui as a backdrop.
Lelbun
Located 15 km from Queilen on the Chonchi road, Lelbun is the best known and most visited beach in the area. There is small estuary where it is safe for children to bathe. The village has an old church, cemetery with wooden mausoleums, shops and cafes and is a good area for camping. |

Aituy:

This hamlet, 8 km from Queilen, is located between the river Aituy and the sea facing the volcanoes Michimahuida y Corcovado. The broad esplanade in front of the church is an ideal picnic spot. The river is suitable for fishing or just for a stroll along the shore. |

Agoní:

A hamlet with 10 antique houses, a beach and a little wharf, 20 km from Queilen by gravel road. |

Paildad:

 |
An attractive estuary fringed by native bush and a good place for water sports and visits to the communities of Paildad, Contuy, Pirque and Apeche. Paildad can be reached from Queilen by a one-hour boat trip; by unsealed road via San Miguel, 12 km from Queilen, or via Contuy 28 km from Chonchi. |

Isla Acui:

This little island boasts 20 families of indigenous origin who live on the produce of the sea. You can enjoy the native bush or gather shellfish on the beaches. There is also good sub-aqua diving in the locality (you would need to bring your own equipment). It is reached by boat from Queilen in about 1 hour. |

Laguna Pio-Pio:

The lake is home to several varieties of waterfowl and bordered by attractive bush, it is a good spot for salmon and freshwater fishing. There is a small store for basic provisions. 14 km from Queilen. |

Isla Tranqui:

 |
There are 7 communities on the island, connected by unsealed roads, each with it?s own school and chapel. It is reached by a 30-minute boat trip from Queilen. At Alqui, reached from Auchac, there is a farmstay under development. |
