Lemuy is known for the devotion of its people and 3 of its 8 churches are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and National Monuments. Visit Ichuac, then Detif, Puchilco (on which road lies the miraculous shrine of Don Manuel Mansilla) and finally Aldachildo.
The 19th century churches of Lincay and Liucura are also notable. The traditional cemeteries of San Agustín, Aldachildo and Detif still have small mausoleums of alerce. The restoration work in the local sanctuaries merits especial mention.
Recommendation: Fill up the tank ahead of time.
