Crafts:

The "Agrupación de Artesanas de la Isla Lemuy" (craft workers association) is oriented towards basketwork and to a lesser extent towards weaving of wool. The art of making baskets requires knowledge and skill. Fibres are gathered from locations such as woods, swamps, and roadsides. Reeds, flaxes, manila and other fibres are transformed into paper baskets, baskets for collecting seafood, sieves and a wide variety of other useful articles. Lemuy is one of the few areas to maintain these traditions where they are a significant part of the activity of rural families.
