| Its coastal population, that gave rise to the important waterfront street, dictates the structure of Dalcahue. Notable buildings are the church, parish hall and neo-classical houses from the beginning of the 20th century located on the waterfront street along with other wooden homes. Architectural styles vary between colonial and rationalist but all utilise wood for their construction. The first public building was the Town Hall, later a sheltered market place was designed for the sale of craft work and includes places for arrival and departure of buses and launches, it is partly built on a jetty over the sea. |
