 The road running into Curaco de Vélez has been called the "path of wool" because of the concentration of weavers in this area. Wool is processed and dyed with natural vegetable extracts. Basket weaving here has reached an international level thanks to the artisans of San Javier who have specialised in the production of fine goods.
