SAN ANTONIO:

Situated near river Chepu, 17 km south east of Ancud, this family dairy farm also produces jams and preserves.

In the neighbourhood is the chapel and cemetery of San Antonio. Also of note are the rivers Chepu, San Antonio, Negro and Mechaico, where fishing trips can be made with the family.

Access: take route 5 south from Ancud towards Castro, turn to the right at Km 14, the junction for San Antonio; continue for 2 km, as far as the junction with the secondary road, turn to the right. A further 300 metres brings you to the house of señora María Luisa. The family has their own vehicle and can help with transport.


PULELO:

3 km from the Chacao ferry, in the home of señora Ariela Bahamonde, it is possible to share in the daily life of the land. The farm produces vegetables and preserves. You can visit the bay of Pulelo, Tres Cruces lighthouse, Old Chacao (fortifications from the Spanish era) and the native forest bordering the house. Check out the traditional woollen textiles produced in the area.

Access: from the ferry at Chacao, turn to the left and take the unsealed road towards Chacao viejo; after 1 km at Pulelo junction, take the road to the right; 2 km further is a school and on the same property the house of señora Ariela.
From Chacao there is a taxi service to Pulelo.


GUAPILACUY:

Don Juan lives close to Corona lighthouse, 26 km northeast of Ancud and produces oysters, cheeses, butter and jams. Amongst various attractions in the area are Corona lighthouse, Fort San Miguel de Ahui, lake Canutillar, the quarries of Cancahua de Yuste, and the areas characteristic woollen weaving.

Access: From Ancud, take the coast road towards Quetalmahue. Pass through Lechagua at 7 km and the village of Quetalmahue at 14 km. Continue towards Faro (lighthouse) Corona, taking care not to take the junctions for Mar Brava, Playa Guabún or Ahui. 3 km after the last of these junctions lies the home of Don Juan, on the right-hand-side of the road, just a couple of km before Faro Corona.
There is a daily bus service from the Terminal de Buses Rurales in Ancud.
